In our opinion, the top search engine sites are (in alphabetical order), AllTheWeb, AltaVista, AOL Web Sites, AskJeeves, Google, HotBot, Iwon, Lycos, MSN, Netscape, WiseNut and Yahoo Web Pages (different from Yahoo Directory). - Tip 1 -Make sure your site is ready with "Relevant Site Content."
- Tip 2 -Submit to each site by hand or via a trusted submitting service that specializes in the major search engines only.
- Tip 3 -Verify that your submission has been accepted. Note: Once accepted, and depending on the search engine, it could 2 to 3 months before your site is indexed and you start seeing results.
- Tip 4 -Continue to check to see that you are listed in the major search engines. It has been known that, on occasion, search engines have had some problems and, as a result, many indexed sites have been deleted.
